Well, there is a gate. The gate is DOWN. Drivers choose not to actuate the gate, so they drive around it because THERE IS NO WALL!!!

The WALL is so effective that when I arrived at a huge gated house out in the country to make a pickup (as a Uber driver) there was no cell phone signal to call in for the gate code.
And no way around the massive gate posts and wall.
Anyway...I got "passenger not available for pick up" payment.
