Doolittle raiders launched from the Hornet, not the Yorktown.
The Raiders flew B-25’s, not B-24’s..
Sorry...folks...my mistake, you guys are correct, it was the carrier “Hornet” not the “Yorktown”. Both of these magnificent aircraft carriers served our nation well and, both were heavily attacked in Pacific Operations.
Flying a B-24 from a carrier would have been quite a feat. Same with landing it aboard.
