I’m a Republican. The only people I call racists are Democrats. Though the word is a little off. Conservatives aren’t exactly a race, since we come together through free will, rather than birth.
That was a fascinating first person observation. I just took it for granted that Mexicans in our society WERE exactly like Italians and German and Scandanavian, etc. And WANTED to succeed in our society by melting into our large pot. I did notice that they always carried Mexican flags, but didn’t make the mental connection.

No, there is something very different about them, in my observation. As an aside, when my father ran away from home to try to enlist early in WWII, he had to swear he would not have a problem shooting at Italians who might even be his cousins!
