I'm of an age that recalls mid 1950's Saturday elemtary school kid's matinees with cartoons, cowboy, and horror flicks. Raucus? You bet, mostly boys, jumping up from their seats shouting warnings to the screen hero. Empty popcorn boxes sometimes flew towards the screen villians accompanied by boos.
The adults watched the streams of young boys coming from all directions to the movie palace, secure in the knowledge that four blissful hours of peace were at hand.
