I have been there three or four times. Located about ten miles from Cloudcroft. It seems strange that the article mentions that the post office was closed as well since it located in town a considerable distance away. I was wondering if the Apache Leak observatory was affected, it’s only a couple of miles away. Strange stuff.

During the 1980s, I spent three weeks out in White Sands Missile range at a facility named RATSCAT performing radar tests on some aircraft. Spent some time in nearby Cloudcroft. Beautiful area. We could be out in 120 temp in the middle of the desert in late afternoon, then drive about 45 minutes to have dinner in the mountains of Cloudcroft and it would be 40-50 degrees cooler. Had one of the best meals ever there - I think it was at the golf course. Good memories.
