So who is the most conservative patriot that has a reasonable chance to fill the slot?

I haven't been following it that closely, but this article from last year offered some possibilities:

• Gov. Ducey's chief of staff, Kirk Adams
• Conservative Congressmen Trent Franks, Paul Gosar, David Schweikert, possibly former Rep. Matt Salmon
• Ducey himself

Others have mentioned former Senator Jon Kyl, though he seems to have a cushy K Street job which he may not want to leave.

Given the shady circumstances of his death, McCain may not have had much negotiating power in the decision. If the McCain camp still had some leverage, Cindy or Meghan are possibilities, but surely the Trump team was careful to inform Ducey about the reasons No Name's name was unmentionable.
