Can you ship those tomatoes you like so much to grocery stores around your state and have them end up on the shelf in eatable shape?

The next step is to 3-D print them out at home.

Eventually there will be a “food” synthesizer printing out a picture perfect meal.

Nope.

And that is the problem.

It is the same case with thin skinned watermelon. They taste wonderful and when we take them to market we are sold out in under an hour. But the market is only two miles away and we pack them very carefully.

If we had to ship them 100 miles they would be unsaleable.
