I believe some top-notch physicist (a woman) studied the shroud and came up with the theory that it was sort of a mini “Big Bang”. The image is even around the entire shroud - not smooshed on the back or whatever. She called it a “singularity” iirc - where gravity is absent.
I was going to write that an absence of gravity would affect where the blood lies - but I guess the blood was on the cloth before the image was.
Oh - except still - you can’t match the image to the blood. Assuming the blood isn’t fake, it would have been on the cloth first, then the “singularity” (and the cloth in no gravity) and the image created.
I think the Spirit and Body both ascending to the Father created a Xerox-like imprint on the shroud from the energy used, but I’m no scientist.
Okay - now that I read the article....
I think that the absence of gravity when the image was laid down would explain the article quite a bit. “No consistent pattern...”
Interesting comment though about if the body was cleaned - why was there any blood at all on the image? Although I’m guessing those wounds weren’t going to heal up after the person was dead - and I don’t think the spear wound caused him to bleed out.
