Being Pro Choice is slavery but slavery was not Pro Choice.

According to Wikipedia, 95% of the slave ships arrived in continental America between 1726 and 1825, so slavery was a major institution in America for about 130 years, about 90 of which were in the post-colonial United States. Jim Crow lasted about 100 years, and racial discrimination has been illegal for more than 50 years.
West's comment was very unclear, but he might have meant that slavery was in force for less than half of our country's history, was abolished more than 150 years ago, yet people still use it as an excuse for current-day problems.

host Charlamagne Tha GodDoes the idiot using this radio handle even know who Charlemagne is, or did he just think that the name sounded really cool?

West needs to start talking about translaves: today’s blacks who are born free but self-identify as slaves.

THAT part is correct.

He did not. He said that continuing to think about it and talk about it is a choice.
Another FAKE NEWS report.

Yeah, in other words the slaves should have rose up.
We all have choices to make. Now why didn’t the slaves rise up ? Because they had something to lose, they had hope that it was going to be over. And slavery, while a horrible dark part of our past, was far different than we are told.
Many slaves willingly entered into the program to get here from their native lands. Most were tricked, yes but you can’t stuff a ship full of strong, healthy native warriors with unwilling participants.

I think he was saying that it IS a choice today.
Hes off the plantation. He sees people so many still on it.
Those are slaves he is talking about.

Tommy Sotomayor made a similar comment about slavery a while ago. His point was that you could imprison someone but you could not force them to obey. He said slaves had a choice to die or obey, and blacks chose to live as slaves.

I fell for this false narrative from of all places the Mike Gallagher Show this morning who was also duped by the media lies. Kanye West was talking PRESENT tense, not past tense. There was not 400 years of slavery in the United States - he was taking us to the present time - those still living like things are no better than the days of slavery are doing so by choice and the Left are the current slave masters people don’t have to follow. Taking the entire quote in context makes that clear.
The media is lying - again.
