My first job was for Casey Kasem transcribing 60 min cassettes (wow that ages me) of music stars verbatim so they could pick which 30 second blurb to air on his countdown show. Best thing was getting to hear these interviews of some real amazing stars. Second best thing, I was paid by the hour to type at home and I was a slow typist! I had to write down every bad word, every “uhh,” every sound. So they could pick the clearest parts.

Wow, how did you get that job? I imagine it could have been awesome--or horrible depending on who you had to transcribe, lol.

For a young college girl it was fun even if I didn’t like the star. Casey’s right hand woman was my dad’s patient. She looooved my dad and was always buying him gifts, even me gifts, etc. So she offered the job, which was great except for the one guy who wanted me to come to his house in Studio City to pick up the tapes... He was at least a little less persistent than Weinstein, lol, so I hustled in and out of there quickly each time.
