Scariest divorce story I ever heard:
They decide to separate, wah, wah, okay, fine:
They have an informal arrangement where he comes over some weekends to pickup the kids.
He arrives at (her?) home, door is locked, no answer. Weird, cuz their understanding was so clear. In the distance he hears sirens, thinks nothing more of it. Ding dong, ding dong —weird! Still no answer.
Sirens getting closer, but no big deal, no answer to his knocking.
Wow, cops cars right around the corner.
Upstairs window opens, a hand drops something out, the thing clatters near his feet on the deck.
He picks up —A KNIFE...? So strange.
Cop cars power slide up on THEIR lawn, cops jump out, pistols drawn.
Women wearing towel bursts out of front door, “He was yelling he was going to KILL ME..!!! Said he’d stab me, that we’d BE TOGETHER, FOREVER..!”
Yes, her scam stuck, they divorced and yes, she got full custody and (more than) half his stuff.
Yes, he did go to jail.
Nice little scam, huh..?
Being a really stellar guy would provide ZERO defense against an airtight scam like that.
Not sure if I believe that story. If it is true, that’s sick but pretty incredible that it was pulled off. I’m a terrible liar, but a convincing truth teller. If that happened to me and I couldn’t get the cops to believe me, I’d demand a polygraph to make sure of it.
I still have the audio recording of my x-fil scheming with my x to lure me out to a remote location where he would off me and bury the body.
Yikes
I feel very sorry for that guy.
Want to see her explain that one to God
I don’t know how true that one was, but I did have a friend that this actually happened to:
His wife started picking a fight with him and it made no sense to him. She just got more and more violent to where he had to excuse himself. She actually confessed that her attorney told her to try to get him to hit her so she could use it in the divorce.
Fast forward about five years and my then wife, before mentioning that she was working with an attorney to get a divorce, did the same thing to me. In her case she actually ramped it up to the point that she walked up to me and pushed me as hard as she could, causing her to fall backwards on her butt. Since I still saw us as “happily married” and she was just angry (she did that a lot, while I didn’t), I helped her up and just hoped she would calm down.
