The kid has ADHD. What better way to rid the child of all that excess energy he has. There was a time when boys could be boys and recess was a blast. We had a lot less ADHD kids back then.

Good idea to punish the kid.
Bad idea to put it online.

Next visit CPS.

>>We had a lot less ADHD kids back then.<<

That is b/c the standard diagnosis for the ailment of being a boy is ADHD.

If today’s standards had been in place when I was 10 I would be so drugged up I would still be in my childhood home (and mom an dad are long-passed).

Dad should be charged with abuse. I understand the need for discipline but this is really bad—optics and reality. He is further reinforcing the bully—Dad in this case. Kid will emulate. Very sad current and future for this 10 year old. 10!

There was a caller on a local talk radio show a few years ago who described a life-changing incident when he was about 12 years old. He was a troublemaker as a kid, and he was picked up by a police officer over some kind of incident involving vandalism or petty theft.

The cop brought him home, and the father had the kid mow the cop's lawn and rake leaves every Saturday through the entire summer and fall. That was the last time the kid every caused any trouble. LOL.

I got in trouble for PTing a child who was misbehaving. I asked the officer if anything I had her do he had not done in the police academy. He said no, they did that and worse. I asked if he is telling me they do illegal things in the police academy. He laughed and told me to have a nice day.

Our almost 11 year old grandson has ADHD, ODD, etc. Just name a D and he has it. I bought him a pair of nice running shoes and told him....instead of getting mad and running your mouth and then get in trouble for it, put on your shoes and run it off. He has to be reminded about it but boy has it helped. lol

I too was one of those kids they would have medicated at the drop of a hat. My parents saved all my report cards, and a common theme right up until High School in those report cards was "Has difficulty with self-control" "Is disruptive in class" "Speaks out of turn" etc.

I wasn't bullying kids, even though I was bigger than some, I was just geeky and uncoordinated and wore the "bully magnet" glasses (in the military, we called them "BCD Glasses" or "Birth Control Device Glasses", so I got bullied quite a bit.

This reminded me of the movie "American Sniper" where the father says to his son (Chris Kyle) as he lays his leather belt on the table:

"...Now we’re not raising any sheep in this family and I will whoop your ass if you turn into a wolf..."

This guy understands his parenting responsibilities. The kid will turn out okay, and as an adult, will thank his father.

I’ve seen this video taken in the rain. I’ve seen the video when it isn’t raining and the wipers are not running. Something fake here.

I think a lot of guys back then were just allowed to be “athletes” or encouraged to exhaust themselves on the playground.
