A baby was born at a wedding ceremony in Nakhon Ratchasimas Sikhiu district on Saturday to the excited anxiety of many at the event.
Nattaporn Tesrit, a friend of bride Mayuree Kumchanteuk, was nearly nine months pregnant as she attended the ceremony. As the bride was waiting for the arrival of the dowry procession, Nattaporn went into labour. Guests expressed shock but did their best to help Nattaporn, who was brought under the shade of a tree and rescue workers were alerted to transfer her to a nearby hospital.

With the help of medical officials, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl weighing 3.2 kilograms in the shade of the tree. The bride congratulated Nattaporn and took a picture with the baby. Nattaporn was later sent to a hospital for further medical care. Although the wedding ceremony stopped during the delivery, guests said they were happy to be present at the event. The birth of a healthy baby is seen as an auspicious sign.
What is the tradition for the person who catches the baby at a wedding?
Lol! Many children in the future?
bttt
I would say that generally, that is an auspicious sign.
For people who may know only a bit about Nakhon Ratchasima, it also used to be known as Korat. It’s formerly the site of Korat Air Force base - it’s about 150 miles northeast of Bangkok.
Here in the US, it would be the bride giving birth!
Yes, she would be 50# overweight and have “no idea” that she was preggers. Riiight.
LOL. Good one! Good thing the bride didn’t toss the babe over her shoulder.
Also, I’m glad it wasn’t the bride giving birth at the altar.

Hint: Placenta Helper.
This is funny.
It is also an example of how some pretty much mundane things are considered news. Think about it, 25 years ago would this be on anyone’s radar? And today we are reading about on the other side of the world?
It’s no wonder people cannot keep up.
It calls itself The Nation, implying that it's the US lefty website.
But it's some freak other.
Can't be bothered (in either case).
