Very nice! I’m going to share that to my Whovian friends. I haven’t watched much of the new Who but I’ll catch up - not watching # 13 which will make attending the Gallifrey One convention next month a little awkward!

Dr Who jumped the shark. Dead. PC liberal gay agenda. Ruined.

Oh, thank you, Moonmad. Quite envious of your convention plans. It’s been years since I’ve been to one, usually Trek, but I always loved going. Great people and fun events. Hope you have a ball!

Don’t give up on all the great former doctors. This is mostly David Tennant and Matt Smith. Don’t remember seeing even Capaldi in the video.

All the old Docs are great; I have most of the series starting with the third Doc, except for some missing episodes.

Capaldi, who was awful himself, breaths his last in the 2017 Christmas Special - which sucked.

The woman Doctor replacement is the problem. Why? What’s the point?

Turning the Master into a woman was bad; getting an openly gay sidekick (who required full strength eye bleach after each episode) was too much for me.

She was one half of — arguably — the best duet ever. Johnny Mathis was the other half.

I stopped watching NCIS after the liberalness got too much to even bother fastfowarding, but I keep all the good old seasons and watch them again and again. Same with Dr Who. I’m ok with 9th Doctor, adore 10th and 11th, so most of my videos center on those. I do have some Capaldi, but I admit I’m not tempted toward new videos these days and probably won’t do the new doctor.

The Third Doctor is great also - was model for Ian Fleming’s James Bond. iTunes has the still existing episodes. And I remember watching them on the old PBS. Jezz time flies.

After Tom Baker I was pretty much done. The last episode was terrific.

I really, really tried to get into the old Dr Who. A friend’s husband died who was big into it and we bought all his Beta tapes. Husband loved it, but I was just bored. I needed some old Tom Baker for a music video I was doing when his companion came back but, even with my love for the new show, I couldn’t get into the old one. What do you see the difference being between the old and the new? What turned you on that isn’t there anymore for you?

Heart and soul. A friend introduced her music to me, along with Melissa Manchester. I’ve done a lot of her songs.

I found the Tom Baker episodes relaxing. It was absurd when it came to graphics, but he had an endearing quality. It was all about personality and my youthful optimism about life.

I was in grad school and had issues with insomnia. Dr. Who was on at 11:00 PM on Sunday nights. I sleep better on those nights than any other night.

The later episodes were OK, but the charm was gone.

I am not really a TV person. It takes something different to capture my attention.

I’m still optimistic, so maybe I’ll try some of those to see what you were seeing in them. I fall asleep to anything from Criminal Minds to Ironman, so probably don’t need it for lullabye land.

I became a TV person after mother died and I needed an emotional release, which I found in Star Trek showing people thought to be dead and then returning. I could grieve a little for mother in Kirk or Spock, etc. Then I discovered the marvelous women in Trek fandom and had the most thrilling time analyzing stuff down to China. There were so many marvelous minds that thought deep and hard, while laughing their heads off. FR is the first place since fandom that I’ve found such a wonderfully diverse set of people who know so much and think so deeply.

One of the best things about his web-site is the lack of trolls.

Of course, we have our disagreements, as people who misinterpret my screen name make silly accusations. It tends to work out in the end.

Go to your local library and see if they have the historical Dr. Who series, which started in 1963. Tom Baker was the 4th Dr. Who. The earlier ones were interesting.

We have at least four large boxes filled with old Dr Who tapes, which include a lot of Tom Baker. I’ve also purchased a great many of the UK series for husband and can always borrow one there. I just never bothered watching unless I needed a scene. My tastes run toward David Tennant and Matt Smith, and the Torchwood and Sarah Jane series.

I actually get a fair number of trolls here. But they rarely have any cogent arguments, and are merely bluster and rudeness. I think of them less as trolls than as haters. They hate with passion and need everyone to hate with them and, if they don’t, they hate them, too. Incredibly sad people.

But they are FAR outnumbered by the intelligent people in FR who can disagree with beautifully expressed logic and express their own positions. Those disagreements are wonderful because they give you a chance to expand your viewpoint, which raving never does.

I enjoy opening my views, and I look forward to watching one of husband’s Tom Baker series with your comment on optimism in the front of my mind.

Thank you for remembering Jane Olivor, Mairdie..in my opinion; even though most have never heard of Jane, she’s one of our finest vocalists. Listen to her 1977 album, titled “CHASING RAINBOWS”...Here’s the title song, “CHASING RAINBOWS” (take note of her dynamics, phrasing; and breath control..simply marvelous.) - https://youtu.be/-sLWH8SnDo4 Then listen to Her version of Donovan’s “Lalena”...https://youtu.be/Tq7u991FXf0 A gorgeous voice!~ She’s retired now; but I’m thankful for her albums..her voice still makes shivers run up and down my back!~

YES! I am a Jane Olivor fan as well.. I’ve only seen her ONCE in concert; in 1979; at the Music Hall in Dallas, Texas, with the Dallas Pops Orchestra..she truly blew everyone away that night....her voice was MAGNIFICENT! I never heard of her before that night, the next day; I bought every album she had released up to that point in time..I ADORE Jane Olivor~.. best album ? “CHASING RAINBOWS”.. her MASTERPIECE ? “BEAUTIFUL SADNESS”... Here’s a video that I made with the lyrics printed out so anyone could follow her singing.. she is a treasure! - https://youtu.be/FdJeoTsUGWA
