Trump? Sorry, but no. I don’t give Trump credit for this one... at least, not for starting it. I do give him great credit for his responses thus far.

Iran is in a hot-war with Saudi Arabia that is getting worse almost every day. The people of Iran dis-like their government, immensely. Most of them understand that it is their government that keeps them from prosperity and from being an engaged member of the western world. It’s always been only a matter of time before they revolted against the Mullah’s.

I believe, it is the imminent threat of horrifying war with the Saudis that has convinced them that NOW is the time.

Excuse my ignorance on the topic, but could Saudi Arabia be able to do much to Iran without our direct help? I know they have fairly good aircraft, but couldn’t Iran pretty much roll over SA with massive numbers of troops?

That may be all true but but having Trump in the White House played a role in that realization. That’s all the credit Trump needs.

I believe you’re forgetting PDJT’s U.N. speech, he specifically reached out to the Iranian people - go back and listen. If anyone in Iran was listening they would seize this time - they were hoping for change when Obama was elected. I think this is specifically because of what Trump has said and done.
