I take stories like this with a great deal of reservation

As well you should. But as I say, kick the tires. Check it out and judge for yourself.

"Buy the truth and don't sell it" Proverbs 23:23. I suppose the corollary would be "If you've bought a lie, return it."

We're all buyers and caveat emptor is up to us. You've already bought what you think is the truth. So have I. So put what you've bought to the test to see if it can stand the test of brutal inquiry. The truth will stand the test.

I’ve spent about 50 years ‘checking out’ stories like this.

I’m sure there are all sorts of ghoulish things floating around in a sort of ‘astral’ realm; they’ve been created by the unwholesome convictions and imaginations of millions of people over centuries. If one’s mind is running along the same lines, one comes into contact with them.

It’s extremely important to be careful of what you believe with strong conviction, because faith is a kind of creation; and I believe that you’ll surely encounter everything that you’ve created. “According to your faith be it done to you.”
