Recently for some reason that I cant even remember now I was looking for information on Germanys Black Forest. Many of the links that came up were for the famous Black Forest Cake an extravagant confection of chocolate sponge cake, kirschwasser and cherries. Definitely a 'celebration' cake, and it looks very nice for Christmas.
Here, from Genius Kitchen, is a from scratch recipe:

and here is one using prepared cake mix (includes a little history on the cake) from What's Cooking America:

I may have been looking up the Black Forest because Ive become entranced by train drivers view videos of trains in Europe. This one on the Bergen line in Norway makes you feel as if you're really there - a nice way to enjoy a snowstorm without being in it. For some reason, I just like having this on the television as I putter about the house. (Warning: it's a 2-hour video; but it doesn't take long to get into the storm ;-)

Saving this. Mmmm
Me too, want to do it today but no time. It will be fun to compare!
Absolutely! I might end up ordering the metal one if it works out well for you. What I do with my regular Bundt pan is I put the silicone one inside of the metal one. That holds the shape plus I get the good release from the silicone. Since the village silicone pan is so thin and wiggly, itll probably need that extra support.
Now, it came with this little gingerbread house kit. Do I make a gingerbread cookie dough and press it into the mold? Ive never made one of these.
Just took my dog for a couple long walks along the rivers in town. Im going to make him a fire in the woodstove, because he loves to lay on his cushion in front of it. (Thats what happens when the nest is empty, I filled it again with animals that have to put up with me)
STACKED CAPRESE SALAD
Use perfectly ripened field tomatoes; diced mozzarella, and a mini springform pan to build the layers.
SERVE topped w/ basil pesto; basil olive oil droplets on plate (puree basil/olive oil then strain).
Add a perfect basil leaf garnish.
