From what I’ve read, a NYT reporter named Sharon Waxman had the big expose written and ready to run in 2004 but Weinstein put the pressure on and got all the sexual harassment stuff pulled out of the article. She quit and started “The Wrap” but the story was out there as were rumors that his brother was pushing it to get control of the company. Some other media outlets were planning to run with it (Page Six for one) and finally the NYT realized it would either have to get ahead of the story or end up explaining why it had been sitting on it for over a decade.
Now they’ll expect to get a pass but will they? Time will tell, but without a doubt the NYT has been as complicit as any other entity in covering up Weinsteins evil deeds for decades.
