anyone who supports Trump is a NAZI. I know it's Rosie but it still illustrates what you alluded to here, gradually defining "fascist" as everyone that opposes the left. It matters because the left feels perfectly justified in denying civil rights to so called "NAZIs". And by "denying civil rights", I basically mean "murdering". And that may seem extreme but the left is extreme and we have driven them to desperation over the past 8 years. If we manage to take more power from them in 2018 and /or 2020, there's no telling how crazy they will get. At the same time, if they manage to claw back some power, there's no telling how crazy they will get.
