Back in the 80’s we would prank call other teens (I wouldn’t say friends :) with this one. It’s a weird, creepy song!
Great one. Genesis really went downhill into sappy pop rock after Peter Gabriel left and the weird went away. Here’s a somewhat similar but later one from a group that had a tremendous influence upon the 90’s sound, but very few have heard of them. The song I understand was inspired by The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, and it’s very, very creepy:
