Ramadan prayer at the feet of Virgin Mary monument spurs controversy in Spain

The Muslim community in Granada, Spain, observed Ramadan on Saturday evening praying at a historic park called the Gardens of Triumph, which for many Catholics is a tribute to Virgin Mary. The event, which the city promoted with signs that read “Come and know Ramadan,” was held in the Catholic bastion to the ire of many Granadians, who say allowing the Islamic prayer there is "a new demonstration of the clumsiness" of Mayor Francisco Cuenca’s and the socialist government.

Muslims taking back what once was theirs. But this time the Catholic Spainards are just bending over.

Amazing though, that there are Spaniards who don’t realize that the Moors are hellbent on a
“Reconquesta” of “Al-Andalus”.

softly. We shall not raise our voices when following our dead. We shall
not take slaves who have been allotted to Muslims.
We shall not build houses higher than the houses of the Muslims.
Whoever strikes a Muslim with deliberate intent shall forfeit the
protection of this pact.

As an “act of reparation,” critics of the Ramadan episode in the park are calling for a Night of Prayer on Tuesday, in which they will recite the rosary.

Of the number of postings on this subject I frequently respond to is with a reminder of the almost virtual refusal to address and condemn the theological assertions being made by Islam. Not only by politicians but by Christian clergy. What stuck me is some of the thinking behind was why this isn’t done

They also supposedly believe that Moses and Jesus were prophets yet look at how Jews and Christians are treated in the middle east. IMO this is more of a Muslim show of dominance rather than “reverence” of Mary.
