I dont have a problem with it. Its pretty expensive living on your own these days. Even young attorneys can save for a real home by living at home for a few years. Why not? Better to live where youre loved, all the appliances are there, help out your parents a bit (financially or sweat), and save for that down payment. You're definitely looking at the bright side, which I don't discount, but the phenomenon of delayed fledging has become an epidemic, and that just can't be a good thing for the culture as a whole.

Probably not. Lengthening the years of nonproductivity on both ends is probably not good long term. We agree. But if it’s only a saving $ on real estate on both ends, it is one solution. Retirement / nursing homes are pricy and so are apartments for young people who are home maybe 8 hours a day.
