Agreed. No matter how noxious his politics are, Kaepernick will be on an NFL roster sooner or later simply because the NFL is starved for QB talent. But he never grew as a QB after his breakout 2012 season and as you said, he instead regressed. Some of it was due to the fact that he hasn't had good receivers and his pass protection has been bad, but most of it has just been Kaepernick himself - he isn't a pocket passer and never will be.

In short, "where the rubber meets the road," Kaepernick's declining quarterbacking skills is THE major reason why teams won't sign him.
