Bird-watching can be frustrating – especially if you’re a cat. An internet video showing a feline apparently mumbling to itself while looking for birds through a window has gone viral on Monday. As of Monday afternoon, it had generated over 1.4 million views on YouTube. One can only wonder what the cat is saying.

Our tortie does this with toy mice. We always know she’s coming with one because we can hear her meowing as she carries it.

Once we were almost presented with a real mouse she had caught in the back yard. We decided she could stay outside for just a bit longer that evening...

So cute! Sounds like a *mini duck call*

But without a wiggle, this may be fake news. :)

Perhaps they are trying to mimic the birds. Cats do mimic humans, that is what “meowing” is.

That’s great...I loved the last one particularly (Tabitha), then I thought, Tommy too, then...ah heck. I like em all. I love dogs, and I love cats.

Dogs are like us.

Cats are like...cats!

My previous cat Squeek would do that too. During the summer I would let her onto the back deck and she would never leave it, even using the bottom step as a napping place.

With exceptions of course. She would peer thru the railings down into the garden below looking for prey and sure enough, she would pounce down, grab her prize, then immediately run back onto the deck and into the dining room with either voles or baby rabbits.

One day I came out of my den and saw her sitting outside the bathroom, staring in. Sure enough, when I went in to investigate, there was a vole hiding behind the toilet that she had brought in and released.........

Then there was another day when again I was in the den and heard a high pitched squeeling coming from the kitchen. Sure enough, she had caught a baby rabbit and brought it in. Fortunately it wasn't injured and I was able to take it outside and let it go.......

I had to put Squeek down last fall but I have another cat named Cootie. When Spring comes around, I might let her onto the deck but I'm not sure how she will take to it. I'd hate for her to wander off........

One of our six does that, and you can hear her across the living room and dining room. We say she’s talking smack to the birds.

Well, just for fun...
When my cat chattered at a small flock of turkeys in the front yard, I opened the door.
I’M the one who got the surprise!
I figured they would gang up on him and put him under the porch or something.
Instead he started circling just like a cutting horse and herded them over the hill.
I just stood there jaw-dropped!
If one tried to go in another direction than where he wanted them to go, he’d just dodge over and turn them back.
BY the time I thought to grab the ‘corder, it was too late, he was strutting back to the door.
Mission accomplished.
When I told my daughter, who had given him to me. She laughed and said that his uncle chased the DEER out of their yard???
Yep, next time she came over she had video proof.

Some times it sounds like my cat is saying Kill Kill Kill when watching birds. We used to have a cat who sounded like she could talk. When our hamsters got loose and ran toward her it sounded like she said Rats Rats Rats. She was hilarious.

Once we were almost presented with a real mouse she had caught in the back yard. We decided she could stay outside for just a bit longer that evening...

Mine had a cat door. One day I took a nap on the white wall-to-wall carpet and she, presumably, went out. I was barely awakened a half hour later by a tiny little meow. I opened my eyes without moving, and there was a bloody dead field mouse between me and her smiling face.
