Evil corporate greed. The White Star Line chose to carry only 20 lifeboats aboard the Titanic. At least 40 would have been needed to accommodate all aboard the ship. But 20 was allowed by law at the time.
The White Star Line made a very reckless, and arrogant, decision there. What it reckless enough to be classified as evil? Perhaps.
