You gotta ask yourself if the big bucks for QBs is smart economics, long-term. Russell Williams won it all on his rookie deal, so did Joe Flacco, and Ben Rothlisberger - so did (almost) Colin Kaepernick. Dak Prescott is a promising beast. There are a lot of sacrifices made by spending about 15% of payroll on 1.89% of the personnel.Add Romo to that list. He was a nobody in the draft and look what he's accomplished. No, he doesn't have a Super Bowl yet, but his numbers put him as one of the top performing QBs.

You’re right. But for the muffed FG snap in 2006, Romo would also have made his best bones on his rookie contract, albeit they were bigger back then.
