So whats a Black Moon? Its the second new moon in a single month.
Its an unusual lunar event that wont happen again in the western hemisphere until July 2019.
This Black Moon will rise Friday at 8:11 p.m. but you wont see much. Thats because new moons are the beginning cycle of the moon phase, when it is not visible because of the position of the Sun, Earth and Moon.
...
Black Moons only occur about once every 32 months. The opposite of a Black Moon is a Blue Moon which is the second full moon in a single month.

Yes. You can see it from the window if you go to the bathroom on the right.

It’s not a full moon. It’s a new moon. Different phases.

Something even rarer is that the Jewish New Year and the Muslim New Year begin with the same new moon this year. This only happens once every 30-something years (because of the Muslim year being 11 days short of a solar year, so the months rotate through the seasons). I think the Muslim year begins one day before the Jewish New Year.

Put in dog-months and it sounds more rare.
32 months = 224 dog-months.

I thought they were called “Blue moons” not “Black moons.”

True, true. But not to those with an attention span of a housefly. And the intellect to match. Ah, the libs... NO, you don’t have to love them.
