HR is basically a useless yet dangerous department to enforce political correctness. You need to think of their people as working for the regime first, the company second and the employee only when it is convenient, which is usually isn't.

Thanks for your HR description. I have been out of that vile environment for two decades. So your description is up to date. I left as Clinton's second term started and PCism was really in gear. Ironically, two of those who stayed were Clinton supporters and got the royal HR shaft in less than a year after I took early retirement.
