I watch the local news, and these crimes are reported as nonchalantly as if they were the weather forecast or the ballgame scores. No, on second thought, actually there is a lot more real attention paid to the weather and sports. I read a report in the newspaper last week that simply said “a man” was found shot dead in a alley in West Pullman, and “two youths” were injured in a drive-by shooting in Auburn Gresham. It almost as if they have to report the crimes, but don’t want to say anything that would put a spotlight on where they are happening and who is committing them. It’s obvious, of course, but they avoid stating anything more than the obvious. Unless the victim is a small child, nothing more is heard of the crime.
Do you think White Sox attendance has declined?
Is there new park in a fairly tranquil location?
I recall reading an account several years back of a guy who was mugged
one night after a game and him saying he would cease attending them.
