So when Donald...
My crystal ball

Posted on 04/26/2016 2:23:35 AM PDT by CanadianBloodAmericanHeart

So when the genius rips up trade agreements and a trade war erupts where will America be able to sell its exports when every country puts massive tariffs on all US goods as a result? Just wondering because he acts like they will all just grab their ankles and bend over...which they won't.

China consumes about 50% of the world’s goods. What happens when that’s cut off?

Yeah.

Do you have any experience with manufacturing at all? I mean besides buying products?

To dismiss the very real differences between manufacturing here versus in other countries due to our regulatory climate is foolish.

I might support Trump if he was hammering on “rein in the EPA, limit torts and other ridiculous lawsuits, free up our energy production, etc.”

“Build a wall and start a trade war” is a simplistic message.

Very nice and libertarian as in get all these useless eater regulators (Federal and state) off ouR backs. Off manufacturing/industry’s back. But we need trade tariffs too.

I work in the oil industry. You want to try schooling me on regulatory burden? I have seen what the regulatory agencies have done to coal, and virtually all the factories that have moved out or closed shop can cite some regulation that pushed them out.

You can believe any narrative you want, but you can't change reality.

As for exploiting labor elsewhere, sure they do. That's a bonus. But they left here because of the regulations.

I don’t see the benefit in this thread. It only serves to question Trump, who is the nominee.

He is? Dagnabit, slept through another convention. Oh wait, it hasn't happened yet. So NOT. Whether that is "not yet" remains to be seen.

See ya in the future.

You’re the one guy on this thread who understands the problem.

I have seen it first hand.

The most important thing right now is to stop the flood of criminal invaders across our border and stop the thousands and thousands of 'immigrants' (Muslim colonists/ jihadists) that Obama has flown in and distributed all across America in hopes of America being eventually under the rule of islam.

Texas alone has been the victim of almost 600,000 crimes by these criminal invaders. (Where are you, Gregg Abbott ?!)

Donald WILL build the wall. He will surely run into lawsuits by rats, many roadblocks and delays- but in the meantime, he WILL stop the flood of criminals by putting enough guards on our borders.

He WILL secure our border.

Our border guards believe in him.

He is the only presidential candidate EVER endorsed by them.

He will also vet/investigate/deport the many dangerous muslims Obama has imported and distributed across America against our will. Count on it.

To make thinking so onerous that it goes out of style to the point of rejection and a cowed and mentally obliterated populace clamors for the type of simplification only a full pallette of government mandates, laws, and regulations can satisfy.

That won't even work, because the regulators keep screwing with the rules in an effort to remain 'productive' and relevant (and make that next GS- level).

That is a valid question, and I encourage others to ask similar questions of all of the candidates. However, I recommend that you not make it personal. Your point is that Trump makes bold statements with no follow up, or expecations that he will ‘bull’ his way through, as he has done in his career. That might work or not, but your question is a valid one, and worthy of discussion. I also suggest that anyone that has a bonehead retort because they don’t like your question, have a better counter question, such as ‘explain to me how Cruz would solve the problem, and how different would the approach be to Trumps?’ That would be another discussion worth having.

The question is where will THEY be able to sell THEIR goods if they don’t agree to fair agreements

As Trump has pointed out the deficit with Mexico,is almost $60 billion and with China it is over $500 billion

How long can this continue unchecked?

Your tag line is impressive. My time and distance has been 15 rounds at 30 feet in 12 seconds with 2” (9 MM Glock). Since you use metric, I am not sure how we would compare?

where will America be able to sell its exports

Have you traveled outside the country? There is virtually nothing made in the USA outside the USA except for Boeing airplanes. (Maybe Microsoft Windows too, but I'm not sure where this is "made.")

By the numbers:

US Exports $1.51 trillion
US Imports $2.309 trillion

Electronics imports: $332.9 billion
Electronics exports: $169.8 billion

Pharmaceuticals imports: $86.1 billion
Pharmaceuticals exports: $47.3 billion

Organic chemicals imports: $52.1 billion
Organic chemicals exports: $38.8 billion

Since one of our major export categories is food, an all out trade war would result in a lot of hungry foreigners.
