Note that the sun is from the south (from below). That sometimes causes the "inverted moon crater effect" for some folks -- making the holes look like mounds. One way to check/overcome this is to look at the cross-shaped object at upper left (a pair of "linear spoil dumps" from excavations around a pyramid just to the west). Make yourself see those ridges as elevated "berms", and the entire image should "pop" into correct perspective...
