I do the same thing. They use soy to brown the sides and I’m extremely allergic to soy!
THAT’S NOT THE POINT. WHEN I HAVE A PARTY I SHAVE OFF THE SIDES TOO, AND MAYBE CUT THE SANDWICHES ON THE DIAGANOL.
