Quentin Tarantino first met composer Ennio Morricone at the Cannes premiere of âInglourious Basterds.â A longtime fan of Spaghetti Westerns like âThe Good, the Bad and the Ugly,â featuring some of Morriconeâs most iconic work, and âThe Grand Duel,â scored by Morricone contemporary Luis Bacalov, Tarantino used some of the maestroâs work from âThe Battle of Algiers,â âThe Big Gundownâ and âAllonsanfà nâ in the film. He also later used elements from âTwo Mules for Sister Saraâ and âThe Hellbendersâ in the 2012 slavery drama âDjango Unchained,â as well as an original song, âAncora Qui.â
