... the plan I had that was 398.00 a month for my family only increased to 1400.00 a month in 2014. So I chose not to pay 1400.00 a month.

And now we see the idiocy of this stupid ObamaCare law. Even when his premiums were only $398/month they were still more than 2x the cost of the ObamaCare fine levied by the IRS.

A premium of $1,400/month translates to almost $17,000 for the year ... which is about seven times the cost of the fine.

With all this in mind, even a person who can afford to pay these insurance premiums would do well to cancel the coverage and just pay the fine. What kind of moron came up with this idea?

ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber said Tuesday he regrets saying that the health care law was written in a way that took advantage of the “the stupidity of the American voter,” adding he spoke “inappropriately.”

Well - except then they wouldn’t have insurance. Although I really should look into that. Except then I’m not even covered for catastrophic. That’s all I ever wanted. Low premiums and a high deductible just to cover the really bad stuff. Now paying 4x as much, with fewer benefits.

And it will end up being like SS - even “conservative” republicans won’t do anything about it.

The point is the person has to pay an increased premium of 1400.00 a month or pay the 2300.00 fine for no insurance nothing, nada. It is crap that they have no insurance because that cant afford the new payment but they have to pay a penalty.

I don’t see how they can force you to pay money for nothing.

John Roberts and Obama are both a holes.

The penalty is for 2014. Assuming he has a wife and a kid the penalty could be above $6K for 2016. His penalty will be more than the cost of the insurance plan that was cancelled. I suspect the guy will be able to get his penalty back one way or another since he is a businessman.
