>>ol. He has NO business applying to all seven Ivy League schools, and his HS guidance counselors are at fault for letting him do so, and supporting his applications.<<
What a load. Let us pretend his ISN’T a hopie-changie fool. A kid has exactly ONE allegiance: to himself. He should apply to EVERY college that he thinks he can get into and he wants to attend.
The other schools have been doing this for a long time and the admissions officers know how to weigh for the Wangs of the world.

(The 17th Amendment was the beginning of the end. The end was the 19th ;) Thank God for the 21st!)

And that's another problem..for the better ranked schools, the admissions office is now a profit center..I remember vividly 15 years ago..when my oldest daughter was applying..she wanted to go to Yale....so bad..she applied early decision..which showed her commitment to Yale..unlike Wang;s..who ahd none.though fully qualified in every way...academically, athletically, and her outside interests...she didn't get in..yet had her skin been a different color, and had we lived in a different zip code..they'd have chartered a plane to bring her to New Haven. The rejection letter said in part..." We received 13,500 applications for some 800 places in the freshman class. We took 450 on early decision. You have been put back into the remaining pool of applicants."
At the time, Yale's fee was $150. Do the math...
