It’s not a ‘British’ team, but an English team. Wales, Scotland, and Northern Island have their own soccer teams for international play.
I haven’t seen the clip myself but post #2 is I think correct. The Japanese player you mention was probably a forward if she was near the England goal.

So do these U.S. possessions: American Samoa (in Oceania), Guam (in Asia), and Puerto Rico and the U.S.V.I. (in CONCACAF, along with the U.S. itself). BTW CONCACAF sounds like a kind of coffee.
