Bluegrass Poll: No clear favorite for GOP ticket in governor's race (Bevin leads)

With one week to go and the race turning tense, a new Bluegrass Poll found no clear favorite in the battle for the Republican nomination to battle likely-Democratic nominee Jack Conway in the Kentucky governor’s race.

Louisville businessman Matt Bevin, Agriculture Commissioner James Comer and former Louisville councilman Hal Heiner are effectively even among likely-Republican voters, according to the poll conducted for WKYT-TV, the Lexington Herald-Leader, the Louisville Courier-Journal, and WHAS-TV.

Fireworks erupted last week and the race turned divisive after abuse allegations involving Comer surfaced and questions were raised about whether Heiner's campaign was involved in them becoming public. The Bluegrass Poll was conducted as Comer went on the defense after his former college girlfriend went public with the allegations.

The Bluegrass Poll found Bevin backed by 27 percent of likely Republican primary voters compared to 26 percent for Comer and 25 percent for Heiner. Former Supreme Court Justice Will T. Scott trails with 8 percent, and the remaining 14 percent polled said they remain undecided.

I had already decided to vote for Bevin.

But to be perfectly honest, after reading the dirty, slimy McConnell based attacks on him (that I’m getting in the mail), I’d vote for the devil if he was someone that McConnell hated. Although the devil is more likely an ally of that traitorous SOB.

I’m 90% for Bevin right now.. still trying to learn a little more about Comer. He looks 12 years old to me... but, I really don’t care about that if he really believes what he says.

I’m voting on Thursday... since, I’m heading to India on Saturday. So, I have to decide SOON!

Heiner, is OUT for me.
