What's interesting is that the cops of that era played by Douglas and Malden probably topped out at 30K in the 1970s.

And I wager their pensions were in the 20K/year range.

None of this 277K/yr nonsense.

Who in the private sector has a pension like that?

Not many if any in private sector land.

30K meant a lot more then than now. Not that either lived the high life but could live OK.

The pension wouldn’t be so hot but at least it existed and was probably sustainable even with the economics of the time.

That 277 jazz isn’t and it’s sickening.
