The best spots for riding out a zombie apocalypse are sparsely populated areas of Montana and Nevada, which remain untouched even four months, according to a new study by researchers at Cornell University who have developed a statistical model for simulating the spread of a fictional zombie epidemic. As The WSJ reports, with real-life applications to modeling viral outbreaks, Cornell offer dire warnings for those who live in Scranton, PA - with northeastern Pennsylvania as the U.S. location most at risk of being overrun by the undead.

So that is something to add to my list, learn how to sail a boat. Could be useful.
Zombies will actually be hoarded of hungry city folk, and instead of looking for brains they will looking for ANY THING to eat, including you.
Zombie Apocalypse = ISIS or Democrats
Put that notion alongside the FACT that underground shelters, at great expense, are going in all over America and parts of the civilized world. Zombies? Naw, starving masses of government dependents.
That bites...
What about zombie mosquitoes? There would be no stopping them, before you even noticed them biting, you’d be infected!
I guess, if you love on an island, on the okochobee (don’t k know if zleepled that wright.)
LOL you've just described the opening of the 2012 rom-zom-com A Little Bit Zombie. And then there's the Sucker which is supposed to feature zombie mosquitoes, but after reading the description I don't think it qualifies as a zombie movie.
No, that means their brains are dead. Zombie brains are still alive. Even they wouldn’t vote for soetoro.
And they were able to survive under water and attack from below.
What nonsense.
“so I really dont get it...”
With something like a pandemic, nuclear attack, etc. the people that are infected/contaminated would have no chance of recovery, they are the walking dead, and if you come in contact with them you will also become infected/contaminated, thus you too will become the walking dead.
To stop the walking dead from causing more death by spreading the disease/radiation to others you kill them.
I recall hearing it discussed when I was a kid during the Cuban missile crisis.
“You have to ask yourself if this is soooooooo out there, why all the studies?”
Because it’s not really “out there” and possible under multiple real scenarios.
Civilization hangs by a thread
I figure living on a black basalt mountain in the middle of a desert is good, as the zombies would be jerky long before they got near. Black basalt can get to 200F and higher.
It isn’t sooooooo out there, it’s happening right now. I just call them liberals.
My mom and aunt were talking about things like water, food and ammo, bringing livestock in closer at night, what were the chances that desperate people seeking shelter and food would get to where we were-on the family ranch in remote SW Texas-during the Cuban missile crisis, and deciding that was probably not likely to happen, but being locked and loaded anyway. My dad was in the military at the time, TDY someplace, but when it got insane, every service member went on alert.
Sounds like the zombies/walking dead are basically the new incarnation of those “desperate people” of the bomb shelter era.
Awesome!
Never seen the show.
If that’s where everyone is going, it might not be the best place.
