"We are aware of the exchange Keith Olbermann had on Twitter last night regarding Penn State. It was completely inappropriate and does not reflect the views of ESPN. We have discussed it with Keith, who recognizes he was wrong. ESPN and Keith have agreed that he will not host his show for the remainder of this week and will return on Monday."
"I apologize for the PSU tweets. I was stupid and childish and way less mature than the students there who did such a great fundraising job."
You have to go to the link to see his ridiculous tweets. 4 days is not enough. I want him gone.
Don’t drink and tweet, twit!
Unless I’m missing something, the article doesn’t mention that Keith mentioned anything about Louis Freeh or Sandusky or anything else....why is this about Paterno (other than your obsession, which is clear from your screen name.)
Exactly what did that jackass Olbermann say?
What’d you expect?
He has a bachelor’s degree in “communications arts”.
What a shock, a Grade A Liberal Douche bag tweeted something ridiculous on twitter, gets suspended..should have happened a long time ago..even MSDNC couldn’t take his stupidity anymore
What was the tweet about please? I know it is a link, don’t want to go to a cbs site.
He called PSU students “pitiful” after they raised $13M for pediatric cancer. Actually his words were nicer than some posters here.
0lbermann is still torturing the internets?
He has been suspended for 46 hours.
13 million is pitiful? Olbermann really should be working at his local Starbucks. He’s the Peter Principle in reverse.
Keith can’t stay out of trouble. You would think he would have learned from his various firings. And why oh why would ESPN or anyone else hire Keith in the first place knowing his track record?
That bastard! I hope he gets incurable leukemia.
Inane is the word that came to my mind when i read is “tweets”.
What is so incredibly offensive about them that so as to justify his firing?
Keep in mind, I despise Keith Olbermann. If someone told me there was going to be a Pay-per-View show featuring him having his teeth busted out one at a time by a professional wrestler with a pall-pean hammer, I would seriously consider shelling out my hard earned money to watch.
I would fire him because he is a vile, talentless, hack - but the lame and stupid stuff he “tweeted” about Penn State doesn’t even register on my outrage meter.
Wow. I need to work on my proof-reading today.
Per Wikipedia
“In August 1980, he also suffered a head injury while leaping onto a New York City Subway train.[106] This head injury permanently upset his equilibrium, resulting in his avoidance of driving.”
sounds like he was already avoiding driving
The only way I’d tweet is via a false persona. I did it for a while, got some followers, but just got bored.
Is there more to the tweets than him mocking the (to my ears inane) chant “We Are”??
Ia gree with the other posters. I can’t pick a side in this one so I’ll just grab some popcorn.
