SACRAMENTO (KTXL) A very close call was caught on camera a local car wash.
Both my blood parents surrender the privilege we had to take my MIL car away after her last fender bender I will go kicking and screaming but will surrender mine with out too much hassle
There should be a law against joggers and bicyclists who run/ride at dark with no lights and no reflective clothing.
Oooh, I gotta remember that one!
“What are the State minimums in your State? Mine would leave a hit of $80k to a guy with minimums...”
Minimum in my state is $25,000. I raised mine to $100,000 and it cost a whopping $7 extra
LOL now THAT is funny!
My Grandmother (Mom’s Mom) never had a lic.
She said she didn’t want to hurt anyone.
Bless her soul. R.I.P. Nan.
I’m with you. Ride my bike a lot, including at night.
But then I’ve got an LED light considerably brighter than a car headlight and a really bright flashing taillight. And I wear a safety yellow and reflective vest.
You’ve got to work at it not to see me.
Reminds me of the old joke, “He died peacefully in his sleep; unlike his passengers who went kicking and screaming.”
Sad. The kind of tragedy I want no part of.
Last Memorial Day Mrs. BCC and I went out to dinner with my folks and my 83YO dad drove. He’s still OK. My 78YO mom’s health (bad back) has made her the perma-passenger. Mrs. BCC’s mom gave up the keys at about 75 without being prompted. She lives in the same town as all the Mrs’s siblings and I think she knew she raised the kind of children that would pamper Mama. And they do. Good family I’m in with.
I am sure things vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction but in the one I am in over 80 you have to reapply every 2nd year for the license to continue. You have to do the written test and attend an hour long class to review things. If they determine a road test is needed you have to do that too. Me personally I would do it yearly and be much more stringent including every driver but that is just me. I have an elderly aunt and after her 3rd test at 84 she failed the visual and while she was upset she got over it eventually.
Yes, I agree.
