Cats are a totally alien race of entities, only barely tolerant of the large, clumsy cat-like creatures that surround them.
If the cat were ten times bigger, all those clumsy creatures would be LUNCH. Until then, these tormentors have to be carefully watched, and at times disciplined.

Dogs have owners, cats have staff.

I actually caught the male cat hiding a stolen candy cane under the rug like a little kid caught with sugary contraband. I think he was “burying” his kill.

Thanks for the link (I think).
As we played it, Oliver the kitty watched ... I think it's given him some fresh ideas!

What brings interest in cats in regards to Christmas trees?

The smell of it. I had a cat when I was a kid who loved the Christmas tree. He would sleep under it and chew on the branches. I miss the bugger.

The theory as to why cats love paper is that is made of wood.

Love this!
When I was a kid, we had a black cat. It was weird to see those eyes glowing out from the middle of an unlit Christmas tree, LOL.
