Heartfelt prayers for your beloved Lady to pass without suffering, and for you and those who love her to find peace and gratitude for her time with you.
Prayers up for your faithful dog. They really are part of the family.
Been there, done that. Never gets easy. May the Lord comfort you with memories of the good years.
Prayers up!
A beloved pet is part of the family.
Lord bless this family with Your healing Love.
When you feel a little better, get yourself another pet. It really makes you get over the grief of losing a dear friend.
Praying for you that your Lady will pass peacefully and your broken heart(s) be healed. It is so hard to lose a beloved pet.
May God bring you comfort and peace.
My prayers are with you at this difficult time. I’ve been through the same thing several times, and it is never easy; but the grief is more than compensated for by the love you shared with Lady.
I have the following poem next to a picture of my dear departed greyhound “Wink.” I found it helped me. I hope it helps you.
The Power of the Dog
There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.
Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie—
Perfect passsion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart to a dog to tear.
When the fourteen years which Nature permits
Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits,
And the vet’s unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers or loaded guns,
Then you will find—it’s your own affair—
But ... you’ve given your heart to a dog to tear.
When the body that lived at your single will,
With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!)
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone—wherever it goes—for good,
You will discover how much you care,
And will give your heart to a dog to tear.
We’ve sorrow enough in the natural way,
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we’ve kept ‘em, the more do we grieve:
For, when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short-term loan is as bad as a long—
So why in—Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?
Rudyard Kipling
There is nothing like a GOOD DAWG! Prayers to you.
Prayers for you and your pet.
My prayers and thoughts are with you.
There is nothing quite like a great Golden Retreiver with whom you have lived for many years. They are wonderful dogs throughout their lives, but the last years are the sweetest and most wonderful.
We also had a golden retriever named Lady. Santa brought her one Christmas morning as a puppy, and she was a very sweet part of our lives for almost 15 years. We had to put her down this past Aug. 29. I cried like a baby.
My condolences to you and your family.
Prayers up for you and your great companion. We have a Golden
Retriever that is 11 1/2 and we worry that her time is short.
We will be lost withour her.
All dogs go to heaven!
When my collie knew it was his time he refused food and water. I used a dropper and gave him some water anyway, but as for food, he would not even take a piece of turkey. He was sweet, though. Sweet to the very last second.
I say that to say, your dog knows it is her time. She just needs to know you love her and she will go in peace.
One of the worst things to face in this life because they become a part of us.
Please know that many understand and send empathetic thoughts....blessings....
Prayers done.
Now it’s time to move on. Lady has already picked Her Successor for You and it’s up to YOU to find it.
Grieve as needed.
Then start looking for the Chosen One, You will know when it is correct.

Oh dear. It’s so wrenching isn’t it? My heart goes out to you all. My Welsh Corgi is 15 and coming closer to her time as well.
God bless you and your treasured Lady. How blessed she’s been to have had the love you’ve given her.
