Manning wasnt happy when the Broncos were trying to chew up the clock in the closing minutes and the Denver crowd was going crazy. That forced Manning to try to quiet down a stadium of 76,907 by himself, frantically waving his arms like a big bird, then shaking his head in disbelief.
...
Im not sure what hes doing, hes playing music and showing players dancing and getting the crowd fired up when we have the ball, Manning said. I dont think we should be doing that. I dont think we should be showing their quarterback on the sideline. I thought that was disrespectful.
...
Rivers wasnt as bothered.
I really dont know how to respond to that other than if you had told me when I was 10 years old they would show me in front of 75,000 and get booed and Peyton Manning in the same clip and get cheered, Id say thats pretty awesome, he said, according to the Denver Post.

From what I’ve heard of Rivers is that he is a class act and his comments to this were very cool.
I’m not a fan of Manning.
Rivers has cleaned up his act; used to be kind of a punk, would ridicule opposing fans.
I'm a geezer, I'll take Kenny Stabler over Mr. Omaha.
Me too.
Rivers sounds like an idiot and a jerk in this situation. It shouldn’t have fallen to Manning to try to get him with the program.
Im not a fan of either Manning.
His Holiness Saint Payton ?
God’s gift to the NFL What a Dip Wad.
To be honest, I think it should be a penalty to try to get the crowd to be ‘loud’ when the opposing team has the ball. Really bothers me when I see that and then when the home team has the ball, the scoreboard tells the fans to be quiet. Not sporting. I would like to see penalties for the rousing the crowd including the board operator and players on the field. Unsportsmanlike and fifteen yards. Repeated as many times as necessary until the crowd shuts up
I am a fan of Manning.
Me either.
Peyton Manning has never been anything other than a class act and a winner. Not to mention a Christian and a Republican. His comments here make sense and I’m guessing the operator will either comply or be gone. Maybe Peyton should’ve handled it privately but I’ll forgive. His detractors remind of those with (PDS) Palin derangement syndrome. When I hear or see one, I immediately suspect it’s someone with serious envy issues.
They’re on different teams, nobody was getting with any program. Manning thought the scoreboard guys (this was in Denver so his team’s scoreboard) was rude to the other team, Rivers (on the other team) didn’t care was the scoreboard guys did.
Staged outrage like the staged keep-away celebration?
Why should Rivers want to get with Manning’s program?
Oh, sorry—I completely misunderstood the situation.
I actually agree with Manning on this.. The scoreboard display seemed like something straight out of Idiocracy
(But, Peyton, don’t forget, you never beat Florida)
It’s very sporting. Close to the only home field advantage that’s left in the NFL is the crowd’s ability to make signal calling harder for the visitors. If you’re going to make the crowd be quiet why even have one?
I believe that is part of what people call home field advantage.
