“Alito was Harriet Myers’ replacement.”
You’re exactly right. Got it mixed up. I’m getting tired from doing battle here, lol. Guess I’ll go eat instead. I’ve worked up an appetite. And then to sleep.
Actually though, it looks like good old RINO Bush got at least one right when he chose Alito. That must be dismaying to the hate RINO’s crowd here. When the Dems win again, which seems to be the desire of most on this thread, there will be no Alito’s or his ilk for at least 8 more years, maybe more. And the country will be totally ruined. It will be all Dems all the time, won’t it. To the kitchen I go to forage for food.

Bush finished with a 27% approval. One of the lowest in American history.
Which gave us Obama.
Yeah he gave us Alito. He also gave us Obama.

There's been some speculation that Myers was a setup-job to make yet another Conservative White Catholic Male(tm) acceptable to the Dems.
It does kinda make sense. Dems were really spoiling for a fight over O'Connor's replacement. Myers took the heat, dropped out under pressure (taking the wind out of the Dem's sails) and Alito breezed (relatively speaking) through the confirmation process. Replacing a well-established moderate with a solid Conservative, and tilting the balance of the Court somewhat in the process.
Back then there were a lot of "Rove, You Magnificent Bastard!" postings here over that. But in retrospect, the Bush White House doesn't look to be smart enough to pull something like that off ...

...the hate RINOs crowd here. You say that like it's a bad thing to hate RINO's.
