Thank you for your reply. I’m amazed to learn Malaysia has not spent any monies. Yes, you’d think they would be the responsible party. I would also think the insurance company would be looking to shift some of the burden to others.

The insurance carrier for MAS is on the hook for what could amount to $2 billion in payouts if the little black boxes are found and culpability points to MAS.

That gives them quite an incentive to want to control the search for those little black boxes.
