What they need to understand is that retirement signals the end of your useful life. Without wanting to sound too harsh about it, the only milestone after retirement is your death.Wow. I hope that you change your mind. Many retired folks throw themselves into volunteer work, contribute to projects much larger than their personal sustenance, and make things happen. Retirement doesn't render a person useless. Attitude or outlook on life is what makes a person vibrant. Or not.

Again, you have the wrong interpretation of "retired" because what you describe in your post is not retirement.
