My dog points in random directions, I guess the magnetic field moves a lot.
You need to follow him around with a wrist compass and a logbook, if you have nothing better to do. It’s science... but not yet settled science.
My dogs actually align North-South the vast majority of the time ... but I think it has to do with the sidewalk I use being in a N/S direction... they rarely poop perpendicular to the sidewalk.
You probably live right over a geologic vortex.
