When we first rescued Lucas Prince of Darkness and Slinker RIP, they, being tiny kittens, decided that our Christmas tree was a toy for tiny kittens.

Four deceased large glass ornaments later, we decided to use soft-sculpture “ornaments” and strings of lights, which we did for two or three years.

There is absolutely nothing that will get us in the Spirit of Christmas like walking up to the tree and seeing four tiny kitten eyes staring out at us.

Worked like a charm. Now Luke is getting on, and he prefers sleeping next to the illuminated (and therefore WARM) stained-glass Santa.

We’ve lost a few glass ornaments to cats (and babies) over the years. We have plastic balls at the bottom now, and ornaments the kids have made in preschool or Sunday School.
