Like other modern Euro states, the historical events are rendered into quasi-historical fiction in order to serve the needs of national myth.
You are kind of doing the Iceni down a bit there, they managed to ambush and annihilate an entire Roman Legion near Colchester during the revolt, which was quite an achievement in those days.
